Festivities Have Begun For Mommies And Babies As The Pinwheel Project Is Back With Its Fifth Edit!

What is the Pinwheel project all about?

The Pinwheel Project is a one-stop platform for fashion-forward kids and their mommies. This exclusive exhibition showcases the best of brands across several categories – such as apparel, toys, room decor, bedding and services for children, moms and mothers to be – from all over the country and abroad. 

What is the objective of this project?

With the lack of availability for kids requirements, three passionate working women – Shouger Merchant Doshi, Aditi Kapur and Ragini Vakil, decided to bridge the gap and make these resources more accessible. The idea was to gather maximum information and commodities that a mom would require ranging from children’s products to additional services such as schools and other institutions, maternity photographers, birthday party planners, educational programs in the city etc.

What kind of impact are you expecting from this project?

Every edition is bigger and better than the last as the founders are constantly working to make it a great social and informative experience for customers. This edition, we have partnered with Kidzania, Red FM, Nickelodeon Junior to broaden the horizons of Pinwheel Project. We will have three district play areas. We also have a food section curated by Bombay Fusion Festival. We offer free massages by Enrich salon and free portrait style images of parent and child by Kidzography as well. We have a meet and greet area with Nick Jr characters as well to entertain the children. With 100 plus brands from all over India and abroad to shop from and all of the entertainment described above, Pinwheel Project is, therefore, a must-attend event for all mommies in Bombay!

About the people behind this project

Shouger Merchant Doshi, a lawyer cum entrepreneur, on her return from Chicago, had successfully run her retail venture and runs a successful business aimed at language & vocabulary enhancement called The Story Merchants. Shouger has played a leading role in the conceptualization, curation, and outreach of the Pinwheel Project. After working in the finance industry in New York and London, Aditi Kapur moved to the food sector launching Delivery Chef – one of Mumbai’s leading home delivery food apps. She has been the key force behind mobilizing the operations of Pinwheel Project. Ragini Vakil, after working in Finance in New York, moved to India and worked with Ernst and Young in strategy and operations. Hailing from the Asian Paints family, she currently heads the family’s wealth management team and has played a vital role in the commercial orchestration of the Pinwheel Project.

Quote from all 3 co-founders:- Pinwheel is a venture very close to our heart and has come about purely because of the lack of options available in India in the children’s space in one place where mothers can view, touch and feel the products and make informative decisions about their child. We also feel there are many amazing people in India who make amazing things for children or moms but are not given a chance to adequately showcase or market themselves so Pinwheel is a great way to launch their products.
