Karwa Chauth is one of the famous ritual festivals in India and is observed in the Kartik month of the Hindu Calendar. It comes on the fourth day after ‘Purnima’ – the full moon day. The Karwa Chauth fast is usually observed by married women, and this fast has a lot of faith amongst Hindus. This fast is observed for the sake of the long life of the husbands. The wives eat nothing and perform fast without drinking a sip of water throughout the day. The fast is completed after worshipping the Moon for marital bliss.

The tradition of Sargi before starting the Karwa Chauth is a well-known tradition in India. The Sargi is done before the Sunrise, wherein ladies eat some fruits or nuts; henceforth, they do not drink or eat for the following day.

Thus, to keep energy levels intact and happiness all around, it is vital to eat those foods that can keep you power-packed for the whole day.

Dry fruits

The women who are performing fast for Karwa Chauth must include dry fruits in their Sargi plate. Dry fruits provide ample energy to your body as well as do not let you feel hungry.

Fruits or fruit juice

Fruits or fruit juice are rich in vitamins and minerals and keep the body energetic throughout the day. Fruits like pomegranate, watermelon, banana, or papaya can be good options for women to eat during Sargi. These fruits are also helpful in keeping the body hydrated.

Coconut Water

The women performing the fast of Karwa Chauth can drink coconut water early in the morning during Sargi. Coconut water has several benefits and keeps your body hydrated for an extended period.

Doodh Mithai

Doodh mithai are sweets made of milk. These can be Rabdi, Kheer, Kalakand, or even Sewai. They are absolutely delicious and keep your energy up throughout the day because of the presence of sugar.
