Being a Mom can be overwhelming at times. We are always doubting ourselves about whether we are raising our kids right or comparing ourselves with those perfect moms we see on the internet! But what we forget is that our kids need a happy mom more than a perfect mom.
This new year make some resolutions that are only focused on you! Here are a few resolutions that every mother needs to make.
1.Put Yourself First:
Very often, moms forget that they have a life of their own. A life outside their family. As mothers, we sometimes forget our own passions and dreams while taking care of our children, home, and families. There is no harm if you put yourself first sometimes and do the things that you like doing. Pursue your passions, live your dreams and spend your me time. A happy mom raises happier kids.
2.Accept The Mess:
A messy house is a sign of having happy kids, kids who are allowed to explore and learn
Have you ever found yourself standing in the middle of utter chaos, right in your living room? Walked over lego pieces. Everything from toys, books, nappies, feeding bottles lying all over the house? And sometimes felt like crying wondering where to start from? Breathe! It’s not the end of the world. A messy house is a sign of having happy kids, kids who are allowed to explore and learn. Anyone with kids in their homes will understand you.
3.Let Go Of The Mom Guilt:
Leave your mom guilt behind sometimes and do what you love
Parenting is no easy job, we all strive to do the best we can for our kids. But that shouldn’t be a reason for you to go on a guilt trip. Don’t feel guilty to have a little fun with your gang of girls. Don’t feel guilty if you want to eat before your kids first. Don’t feel guilty about saying no to your kids when they ask you to play but you need a nap badly. The point is to leave the mom guilt behind. Whenever you get the opportunity to have some fun, grab it! Its important for you to be happy to raise happy kids.
4. Don’t Compare Yourself:
Don’t beat yourself over not being able to meet the standards of what society says an ‘Ideal’ mother should be like. Don’t compare yourself to the picture-perfect moms that you see in television commercials. Do your best and believe in yourself. Comparing only makes you unhappy and an unhappy mom means an unhappy child!
5. Be Kind With Your Body:
After a mom gives birth, their body goes through a lot of changes. A common reason for a lot of mothers to feel depressed is they feel they might not look as attractive as before. It is during these times when one needs to remind themselves that having a child is in fact, a gift that must be treated as one, with all the flaws and furies. One must accept the changes in their body, and learn to appreciate them. It may not be something one could achieve overnight, but one must know that it isn’t impossible.
Every mother is equally concerned about their child and wants what’s best for them. In the bargain sometimes we are too hard on ourselves. Remember you are doing just fine!
