Diaper duty can be a messy situation and as new parents, this is one of the most important duties! But this need not get overwhelming. Diaper changing can feel like a breeze, with some easy hacks.

Read on to know some of these easy hacks.

6 Diaper Duty Hacks To Try

1. Be Prepared

Before you take off the dirty diaper, place a clean diaper beneath the dirty one so that you only have to lift your little one once. Use a baby diaper bag or diaper storage box to keep diapers and baby-friendly natural wipes in the house so that you can quickly access them when needed. As a parent, you must be prepared for urgent diaper changes.

2. Grab your Baby’s Attention

You know your baby best, so do things that distract your baby during a diaper change since babies wriggle a lot. You can give your baby his/her favourite toy, make funny faces or even sing to your baby. Use this time to bond with your baby.

3. Practice the Diaper Duty

They say practice makes a man perfect! So practice changing diapers before your baby arrives because your load of responsibilities is only going to multiply after the baby is born. Practicing will get you used to what and how it needs to be done.

4. Use a Plastic Changing Pad

With a newborn, things are extra messy so avoid using a cover that needs washing after each use. Use a plastic changing pad which is much easier to use. Cloth cover pads need washing and drying which will only increase your diaper task load.

5. Use Products to Soothe Discomfort

Diaper rashes are very common as your little one wears them all day. Plus, the irritants from urine, stool or cleaning products also cause rashes. Hence, while changing your little one’s diapers, make sure to start with washing their bottoms with a natural baby bottom wash with aloe vera, panthenol, chamomile, and calendula extracts, which gently cleans and refreshes your baby’s sensitive skin. Then use a soothing and natural diaper rash cream to provide your little one relief from discomfort. You can even use a natural talc-free powder to keep your little one dry and comfortable.

6. Make your Diaper Changing Station Safe

Make sure that your diaper changing area is a flat surface and is safe for your little one. Also, do not leave your baby unattended even for a second. Only go to the diaper changing station with your baby once you have set the supplies at the station and they are within your arm’s reach.

Use double plastic zip lock bags to store the products so that your baby does not accidentally inhale the products or get exposed to the products which can cause harm.

Diaper duty can be tiring and a whole new experience for first-time parents. Use these simple hacks to make the task faster and more convenient.
