Mums have multiple roles to play and often get busy playing their part. But besides being a mum, they too have aspirations and individual identities. Mums are capable of doing anything that they put their minds to.

Linda Fernandes Crasta is one such mum whose superpower is to make people laugh. In a candid interview with BabyChakra, Linda shares tips on how she manages to create humorous content, and how she adds humour to daily mundane life.

Linda Crasta Fernandes Shares Advice For Mums and More

1. Please tell us a bit about yourself.

I am an engineer, a homemaker and now a content creator. I have been adding humour to mundane nuances of life and making people laugh with my content.

My career took a back seat when I became a mum and though my son Isaac is 8 years now, getting back to work after a long gap still seems impossible for me.

2. Please tell us about your profession / full-time content creation journey. What motivated you to do what you’re doing and how did it start?

My current profession is being a full-time mommy and part-time creating content. Once a good friend of mine casually suggested I do reels because my humour with sarcasm always made people laugh and that’s when I thought to give it a shot and my journey as a content creator began.

3. How do you manage to create humorous content?

My content is what we women go through, be it with our husbands or our in-laws or our kids or our career. I also create content on how women juggle between different roles and yet keep the family’s needs at the forefront. So that’s where my inspiration for reels comes from. Basically, I bring out the story of women in a funny way through music in reels.

4. Is there a difference/bias as to how humorous content gets a response when it’s from a female creator in India? Tell us about your challenges

I haven’t faced any biases, I think people are more accepting now and supportive too.

As for the trolls and haters, they really affect me. I just follow the ignorance is bliss rule and move past them.

5. Would you recommend being an online content creator as a career option, especially for young moms? What’s your advice to those who might be considering it?

Definitely yes! The content creation option is the best career option for stay-at-home mums.

Mums can create content in their free time whilst managing their home and their kids with no deadlines and no bosses to worry about.

Plus, after a steady journey of content creation, they can start collaborating with brands who are looking for mum content creators and do barter and paid collaborations as well.

6. How does your family support you in the relatable content that you create based on real experiences?

My husband is my biggest supporter. I would never have reached this far if it wasn’t for his support all along. He knows the situations that we women go through and also knows its content and supports me on this journey.

7. How was your pregnancy journey? Did you face any challenges?

My pregnancy was a delightful journey though I had gestational diabetes and was under a strict diet and had almost hit 90 kilos in my last trimester.

8. Husbands play a crucial role in bringing up a child, what are your views on equal parenting? How has your hubby helped you co-parent?

My husband has always been very supportive and I couldn’t thank him enough for everything he’s done for me and my son.

The initial days of motherhood are a roller coaster ride but my husband has always been there for me in taking care of our little one. He had also been involved in burping him, doing diaper changes and allowing me to get the needed rest that mothers need. In fact, he helped me get through the whole postpartum phase.

9. How does your child help you in your content creation? How do you ensure he does not get affected by any negativity online?

My son is game when it comes to reels and you can see him in many of my reels as he loves being in front of the camera just like his mum.

He’s still small to understand the negativity on social media and I have kept him away from it.

10. How has your relationship changed with your husband after becoming a parent?

Being a parent just strengthens your bond which no words can describe. We understand each other better now and have grown more patient with each other and solved our conflicts in a more calm way.

11. How do you take care of your mental well-being? What’s your advice for mums who may be struggling?

Stay strong and remember this too shall pass.

Your kids will grow up and have a life of their own so take care of yourself and don’t forget that you have an identity of your own apart from being a mum.
