A diaper bag helps to conveniently store everything you need on the go for your baby. Now that you have picked a diaper bag, the question is what should you pack in the diaper bag before you head out with your baby, so you can stay stress-free?
Here are some tips on what you should pack, for a hassle-free travelling experience with your little one.
Pack one diaper in your diaper bag for every two or three hours you’ll be away, plus one or two extras just in case.
Get natural baby wipes that are designed for your baby’s sensitive skin. Organic Bamboo Wipes that come in a travel-size pack are convenient to carry while on the go.
You never know when diaper rash might set in. Choose a travel-size diaper rash cream to save space. You can also use petroleum jelly or a barrier ointment to help prevent diaper rash.
Pack one or two burp cloths including washcloths for your baby’s spit-up, or for wiping up any spills. Instead of using your clothes, get a burp cloth. Carry a blanket to swaddle your baby or keep him/her warm if the weather suddenly gets cold.
This is especially important for your baby’s day out or for an overnight stay. But do carry extra clothes including extra socks even for a short outing as your little one can have a poop accident anytime. That’s when extra clothes are needed.
Use this for soiled clothes, so they don’t stink up the rest of your diaper bag. You can also keep the dirty burp cloth in it.
If your baby is older, sunscreen is a must. Consult with a paediatrician to check if you can use sunscreen on your baby. Use a natural and safe baby sunscreen free from parabens and mineral oils.
Just in case you can’t wash your hands before and after a diaper change, or before feeding your baby, carrying a hand sanitiser in your diaper bag is a good idea.
Other than these, do carry a first-aid kit and needless to mention – milk bottles and a water bottle if your baby is over 6 months old.
