It activates a part of your brain called ‘amygdala’ which is also known as a fear trigger. So, breathing and doing yoga makes you overcome that and face your problems in a more effective manner.
The gray matter is an integral part of your Central Nervous System which is responsible for your muscular control and your senses like speech, audibility, memory, vision etc. It is said that your brain needs only 8 weeks to detox and feel new again.
That is why many people who are deeply stressed or disturbed practice yoga as it helps them calm down and reconnect with themselves. It will help you understand your own strengths and analyze the world in a more mature and open way.
The nervous system in your body is of two kinds, one is the ‘Sympathetic Nervous System’(fight or flight’ response) and the other one is ‘Parasympathetic Nervous System’ ( Your basic chill-pill). This is usually not very active among people so they are always overly reactive or are constantly freaking out.
Your para sympathetic nervous system is like your sister who calms you down in stress.
