About Sanjay Gandhi National Park

Sanjay Gandhi National Park previously known Krishnagiri National Park encompasses an area of 104 km2 (40 sq mi) and is surrounded on three sides by India's most populous city. 

Kids just love watching the animals, plants and various species so closely. They have a toy train and safari park for kids to enjoy. You can get cycles on hire. There is drinking water and toilet facilies available in the park.

One can see worlds smallest rusty spotted cat and other wildlife like monkeys, langurs, hyenas, spotted deer, sambhar, barking deer, indian flying foxes, black naped hares. It also has varieties of attractive species of reptiles like snakes, pythons, varieties of lizards, dangerous vipers and cobras.

Sanjay Gandhi National Park has varieties of rare plants, flowers, migratory birds, species of trees, reptiles and wild animals which can be seen during trek, trials and safari visits. 

Some of rare plants and trees being kadamba, acacia, teak, shisam, ziziphus, euphorbia, karanj and more. The beautiful forest of national park has a beautiful scenic views across its dense forest during monsoon.

We had taken our twins to National.park on a weekend.We reached there at around 9.30am ,collected our entry tickets and headed straight towards the mini train ride which was fairly priced.It was a 10 minite ride amidst the jungle and there ...see more

This place is very important for mumbai & peoples of mumbai It's the only more greener place in mumbai which is good for healthy atmosphere & the only place where the peoples of mumbai can enjoy the atmosphere of greenery in mumbai.

My lots of friends and their mothers decided to visit this place in monsoons.Had decided to visit the kanheri caves,but when we reached the authorities advised not to as it is very slippery during rainy and not safe for lo's.so took a 1 km ...see more



It's a nice green national park. the caves inside are beautiful. and it is awesome place to hangout with kids. there r rides, and lion safari and garden. a full picnic spot.
however it's not recommend in summer months for young kids as th ...see more



It was hard to believe that there existed a national park in the middle of the city.
If you are a nature longer this is the best place for you to live your love.
