Personalizing BabyChakra just for you! This may take a moment!
A 6 page, fabric based, 100% sewn, handmade quiet book.
Prism is a good opportunity to start talking about colors and shapes with your kids while you are on the move because you get to carry the book wherever you go!
You can begin with allowing the child to freely explore the book. Velcro and Unvelcro everything they want to.
1) Matching like coloured items or shapes
2) Move towards having the child identify them (e.g. “show me the red sock” or 'show me the triangle')
3) Lastly, ask the child to use the colors and shapes/objects expressively to label or answer the question, “what color is this?” Or 'how many sides does the square have'?
End with a fun scavenger hunt game maybe? Go on a hunt and pick 'red objects' in the book.
You can also throw counting into the activity in a low key way so you get talking about numbers (while sorting the red and green apples and counting, for example). 'How many apples can you count'? Or 'How many apples are on the tree and how many in the basket'?
Some of the pages also work on hand eye coordination (fishing) and fine motor skills (Velcro and snap buttons and peg clips) .
The xylophone size sorting page is to encourage the child to sort objects according to their size and stack them.
Don't miss the pretend play washing machine for the laundry page and socks in rainbow colours that even you''ll love to play with.
At the end of the book is a zipper pocket - a place for everything so there aren't loose pieces to keep track of when putting them away.
