There are several communities today which are creating enormous value for mothers and women, at large, by helping them when they need it the most and we, at BabyChakra, truly love them. This Women’s Day, we thought why not talk a little about their efforts, how the groups came about and what makes the mothers (members of the group) feel so connected.

Here’s how our MomStar Kanupriya’s Powai Women’s Networking group(PWN), a Facebook group, is helping women support each other through ups and downs of their personal and professional lives:

What spurred the idea of creating this community?

The idea was to build an effective community to bring together the women of Powai, a networking platform where people get their queries solved, grow their business and most importantly, make friends with like-minded women living nearby.

What keeps the members together?

It is to lend support to each other whenever needed. People don’t think twice before helping out. What is really amazing here is that women from same business too don’t hesitate in complimenting their business rivals. It really is that, support in the real sense!

Member Testimonials!

Very often on PWN, I see posts about how this community has given them their best friends for life, how their business has seen tremendous growth or how they have got their queries solved in less than a minute. These are the usual benefits of being part of Powai Women Networking.
But, two people have particularly shared their stories with me which I would share here.

1. Palpal, who comes from a middle class background says, after her break in teaching career, she lost her confidence. She wanted to get back to it and was looking for some support. This is the time she came across PWN which she says has been wonderful to her. After an elaborate introduction from me, she started teaching again, re-gained confidence, started counseling other women, enjoying her work and she also feels financially independent.

2. Another lady, who is a commercial pilot says PWN has helped her overcome her personal loss. She was happily married and conceived at the right time. 2-3 months through her pregnancy, the day she was shopping for her birthday, she suffered a miscarriage and within no time, their dreams were shattered! She was utterly upset and kept only to herself, which is when she discovered PWN. She saw how people here help each other and share their knowledge with one another. She started following it and got hooked on to it. This helped her fight her pain and loneliness. She read many inspiring stories on PWN where women have achieved huge success.  She became stronger, confident and happier. She says had it not been for PWN, she would have really gone into depression. Today she spends hours on PWN and it is her life and family!

Dreams Galore

My goal for PWN is to make it the most sought after community or, platform in Mumbai. It has, in fact, sort of achieved that status. People do feel that there is no other more effective group than this. The idea is to keep up the value it adds to the members’ lives.
