Warm hug to all Wonderful moms out there.;

I am dhara here. I have twin babies who are 3 years old now. I have overcome my phase of breastfeeding so here i would like to share the same;with you all.;

Breastfeeding is a beautiful journey which has its own ups and downs, i am sure the mother's who are in their breastfeeding phase will relate to this sentence. 😊😊

So, it all started when my babies came to this world. They were born premature so they were under NICU for a month after they were born. They were kept in different hospital for NICU care . So my husband used to go to hospital for first five days to provide them the pumped out feed. Nurses used to feed them the feeds. After 5 days i used to visit them daily but was told to bring the pumped out feed only as my babies were not ready yet to suck the milk. After 15 days, i was allowed to breastfeed my son for the very first time and i cant express that feeling. I cried while feeding him. It was a different feeling. (I have always chanted gayatri mantra and mahamrityunjai mantra while i used to feed my babies.) This was because i was told by my elders that it give peace to the baby and no wrong thoughts are passed. Till a month my daughter was in hospital only. So i used to feed one baby at home and for other baby i used to pump out my feed and give.;

After a month when my daughter was discharged many questions striked my mind.;

1) will i be able to feed both baies

2) what if i wont be able to feed my babies

3) will i be a bad mother if i don't breastfeed my babies

4) wont my babies get proper nutrients without my breastfeeds.

;Which ultimately resulted into depression and which further related to decreasing of breastmilk. It took my a month to settle down but i was having strong support by my side with much positivity i didnt gave up.. While I started to feed both the babies , in the beginning they used to wake up on different time.. it was like the moment i finish feeding one baby, other used to wake up and within half hour the again the first one.; So this went on till i setup their sleeping schedule by feeding both at the same time.;

;I was fed with each and everything possible to increase my breastfeed and yay it increased...

I used to feed my babies every one and half hours, yes without less than 2-3 hours sleep a day.. was like a zombie for a year.. holding both the babies each on one breast and fewd. Those days passed and i successfully fed my babies for 2 years.;

Difficulties i faced and overcomed

1) When my feeds decreased - i used to have shatavari kalpa with shatavari churna in hot milk thrice a day. After it increased i reduced it to twice a day. I also used to have soaked methi seeds in morning. I used to have mukhwas which was made during breastfeeding phase.

2) I got milk blisters once, while i was feeding them. To overcome it i placed hot napkin dipped in hot water and blisters were cured.;

So, on this breastfeeding week i would suggest you all that dont panic. Just be strong and positive. Be affectionate as this phase wont ever come back

Dhara 😊
