Diwali food fest is still going on at my home. This is my mom’s unique recipe. She learned from her mother. So it's a kind of grandma recipes. Curd gives a unique taste to the snack. You can feed to kids too for a snack box.
🥣 curd - 2 cups
🥣 rice flour - 3- 4 cups
🥣 salt -1 1/2 tsp
🥣 red chili powder - 1 1/2 tsp
🥣 ajwain -1 tsp
🥣 sesame seeds - 1 tsp
🥣 butter - 2 tsp
🥣 oil - deep fry
🥣 Take a wide bowl, add curd, salt, chili powder, ajwain, sesame seeds, butter. Give a good mix. Now add flour. Mix well without lumps like chapathi dough.
🥣Now take a murukku maker/chakli maker. Insert 3 holes plate to make murukku.
🥣 heat oil in a pan. Fill the oil till half of the pan. Once the oil is heat, start squeezing the dough in the murukku maker. Fry in medium flame. Turn both the sides. It gets fried in just 2-3 min. Remove when it is wheat brown for crispy and tasty feel. Yummy mouth watering murukku is ready.
Tips: don't make the dough liquidy or tight. Don't add oil more than half of the pan. It leads to a spill. Frying in high flame may spoil the murukku taste and color.
Time : 40-60 min.
Storage: 20 days
Serves: 20-25 murukku palm size.
