hi ladies, I am in my second trimester..
we have some cockroaches in the house and have decided to go for pest control service..is it safe to carry out this treatment in the house while I am pregnant? any knowledge on this? please help

Priya Ghosh

if it's herbal then no issues, else try to avoid it during the pest control and stay out of the house for couple of hours.

hi Priya..thanks for the quick revert.. yes, I will be at my work place during the treatment taking place in my house...but post that I am hoping it's safe to stay..

Priya Ghosh

yeah yeah , if someone wipes it after couple of hours at your place then no issues at all. we have been doing it since my daughter is small and we avoid being at home during treatment and after that couple of hours then our maid wipes and it's perfectly fine. we are back home with our daughter.

Shweta A

they told me that it's some gel based treatment that they will put in the corners

Priya Ghosh

yes that's generally done in kitchen at our place. that's odourless

Shweta A

ok.. thanks dear

Priya Ghosh

stay safe and take loads of rest till your bundle of joy arrives, sleep a lot :)

I think herbal pest control shouldn't be a issue

Tanu

we used to do PCI .its very safe with no smell. nothing to worry it safe. even we did it last week.

I too got a pest control done in my second trimester. It was the traditional one with spray and a lot of smell. I stayed outside during the day when it was taking place at home. Post that we ensured to open all the windows of the house for letting the smell go. I preferred to sit close by the window only for fresh air. You can take all these measures especially in the room where you would be staying.

yes its safe i got the treatment done from pci .only when they r spraying the pesticide in bathroom don't use it for 45 mins.
get the pest control done from a reputed brand also before signing the contact check with them.

Shweta A

thanks Charu..I confirmed with the PCI ppl and they said they will be applying gels only..no spraying..

Go for herbal ones or odourless ones.

I had got it done at my place too during the same time of my pregnancy. it does smell for a while so if u r away for 3-4 hours it gets milder and eventually goes away

Tanu

no pci too apply spary but in selected areas. like kitchen balcony etc.even there spary is smell less.

Shweta A

thanks all..
