Having a loss of appetite or finding the food less interesting or appealing during pregnancy or on a bad day is common. But eating less isn’t a good option, specially during pregnancy or lactation. To meet the daily requirement of protein, carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins, and other nutrients it’s important to eat well and eat healthily. To do so even when having a loss of appetite, here are a few tips you can follow

  • Eat smaller meals, do not eat forcefully.

  • Include more healthy liquids like soups, and fresh juices during the day.

  • Snack of fruits, seeds, dried fruits, and some healthy nuts.

  • Have foods that are high in protein, fiber, and essential nutrients like boiled eggs, salads, sweet potatoes, well-cooked chicken, vegetable khichdi, sprout, etc.

  • Start your day with healthy smoothies.

  • Include dairy products like yogurt, cheese, and buttermilk in your diet.

A slow and gradual increase in your food intake from liquid to solid food will help you receive your lost appetite as well as provide you with the necessary nutrients required.
