hi, my doc had told me never to sleep on my back . Sleeping on your left side will increase the amount of blood and nutrients that reach the placenta and your baby. do check with ur doc. all the best .
Priya Sood
Hello Sanha. Yes, it is better to sleep on the sides. Your back needs strength and less force in these days. All the best.

Sleeping on left side is recommended as it helps the baby to take vertex position in last trimester.

as ur pregnancy progresses, you won't be able to sleep on your back as it won't be comfortable.. sleeping on back is not ideal for baby too, sleeping on sides is better and sleeping on left is the best.. my gyn told me that I could sleep anyway I was comfortable, however sleeping on left was recommended
Dr.Srujana Kona( PT)
Yeah it is advisable to sleep on to your sides, preferably left side.Lying on your back with little tilting on to your side can also be done with the help of pillows n long towel. Please contact obstetric physiotherapist or the therapist working with maternity hospital. All the best
Sanha
yes mild itching is normal on stomach and chest, due to the skin stretching and increased blood flow.

not stomach n chest. I m 15 weeks pregnant n I have little itching in vagina. is it normal??
Dr.Srujana Kona( PT)
That itching might be due to change in pH at vagina. Please inform ur gynecologist.. she will prescribe some lotion like V.wash to use it for washing the area.U will feel better.. All the best

hi all.just a small quest.i m in my 24th week. my gyane weighed me yesterday whr i lost half kg. is it ok. as in this whole week i had to go to office with lot of pressure. can it b bcz of it. also my gyane was worried abt gestational diabeties ..so for whole week i dint had anything sweet.even banana. should i worry.
Dr.Srujana Kona( PT)
No need to worry.Half kg weight more or less its ok.If u r eating healthy n if ur baby is growing well. Reduce ur stress by doing deep breathing exercises. Check ur weight Next week also.If that is maintained, no need to worry. If again it is less, they take a step towards putting on healthy weight.. All the best

hi Soumya.. you should not lose weight in pregnancy bt half kg is not a big difference, I had lost 1 kg in my 4th month, and my gyn told me to take care but its not harmful if baby is growing well.. gestational diabetes is possible if you put on a lot of weight.. also, have your sugar levels been high before or during pregnancy? if not, then don't refrain completely from eating sweets , you can have everything in moderation provided your gyn allows and pregnancy is going well.

ok...iv never been diagnosed with diabeties.but my GTT was on borderline. so my gyane asked me to b cautious...
Akanksha Bhuri
In that case, I guess you be cautious and refrain from eating too much of sweets and junk and putting on more than necessary weight.. however, you can eat things in moderation if you crave for something.. just keep a check on your weight and sugar levels.. hope this helps.. take care!!
