Bel ka sharbat

Bel or Bael which is also known as Golden or wooden apple in some regions is summer fruit with amazing benefits.

It purifies blood, treats digestive disorders, treats constipation and even helps maintain sugar levels for diabetic patients.

My mom makes it in summers. Even when it's taste is not so good we consume it for health benefits. We don't even add sugar to it as fruit is sweet sometimes. One thing we need to remember is that this juice should be consumed for just 1-2 days in continuation. Then give a Gap of a week and again take.

Ingredients (for 4 glasses)

1 ripe bel fruit


Sugar to taste


1. The shell of this fruit is hard so break it carefully and take out it's pulp with seeds in a bowl.

2. Add about 2-3 glasses water to it. Pulp will be soft.

3. With clean hands or blender, crush the pulp and seeds well. The seive it well to take out as much juice as possible.

The juice is ready to drink. One can add salt, sugar, lemon juice etc to make it tasty.

I always love Bel ka sharbat ,, we made it by using milk also. Aditi can u pls tell me ,, from where i get bel in Ahd. My mil said ahd me bel nhi milta hai.😥

My mom had thid bel ka sharbat in bhilai nd she liked it and was telling its benefit. But i just hated its taste. Worst than thn anything else 😬 ghosh!! My tastebuds😂

Thanks Aditi...we make it traditionally on sankranti on 14 th April...so the recipe is also traditional..
Tender coconut , banana and pepper and sugar goes along with the bel sharbat ...☺️☺️
I sometimes make it plain but crushed pepper is a must ...
