Recipes for Vegetable Puree for Babies –

#1 Potato Puree

Benefits of Potato for babies –;

Becomes mushy when boiled.

Easy to be chewed by a baby.

Quickly fills your baby’s tummy.

Ingredients –

One medium sized potato

Water to boil the potato.

Salt to taste

Method –

Wash the potato well.

Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan.

Cook potato chunks until tender (about 15 minutes)

Now drain the water and wash the boiled potato in cold water.

Mash the boiled potato in a pan and add a little water to it to make puree

Boil the mixture to make it a little creamy.

Now add salt to taste and serve warm.

#2 Beetroot Puree

Benefits of Beetroot for kids –

Adds natural color to the food.

The crunchiness of beetroots is enjoyed by babies.

Good for healthy digestion.

Ingredients –

A medium sized beetroot

Water to boil the beetroot

Salt to taste

Method –

Wash the beetroot well.

Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan.

Cook beetroot chunks until tender (about 15 minutes)

Now drain the water and wash the boiled beetroot in cold water.

Mash the boiled beetroot in a pan and add a little water to it to make puree

Boil the mixture to make it a little creamy.

Now add salt to taste and serve warm.

#3 Carrot Puree

Benefits of Carrot for kids –

Rich fiber content

Improves digestion

Good for eyesight

Ingredients –

One medium carrot

Milk or water

Sugar to serve sweetened puree

Method –

Wash and prepare the carrot clean.

Boil water in a pan.

Now add diced carrot to the water and let it cook for 15 mins.

Let it cool for a while.

With the help of a blender make a puree.

Add water or milk to make a liquid consistency of the paste.

You can add sugar to taste if you want to serve the puree sweet.

Serve warm.

#4 Spinach Puree –

Nutritional value of Spinach for Babies –

Amazing source of calcium

Good amounts of vitamin A, iron and selenium

Rich in folate and dietary fiber

Ingredients –

100 grams of fresh spinach leaves (for one serving)

Method –

Wash the spinach leaves properly in cold water.

Rinse off the water and cut the thick stems of leaves.

Steam the leaves of spinach for about 5-10 minutes.

Once cooked, blend them in a food processor.

No need to add water while blending.

Once the paste attains the required consistency, pour it into a bowl.

Serve the puree either warm or at room temperature.

#5 Green Pea Yogurt Puree

Health Benefits of Green Pea for babies –

Fibre present in peas helps in easier digestion and prevents constipation.

Babies like peas because of its slightly sweet flavor.

Ingredients –

A cup of Peas

2 spoons of yogurt

Method –

Steam or boil the peas to make them soft.

Make sure the peas are soft enough to get mashed.

Once cooked, blend them into a mixture or mash them with a masher.

No need to add water while mashing or blending.

Once the paste attains the required consistency, pour them into a bowl.

Add a spoonful of yogurt to the paste of peas.

Serve it to your baby warm or at normal room temperature.
