We were excited to be back in India, with our family. The very next day baby shower function was planned. And the day after, first doctor visit at coimbatore. It was a busy first week for us. Slowly got settled in the week after. I was back to my regular routine by then. I continued learning lullabies, rhymes and downloaded few songs too.

One another thing that I came to know when we were in US was about using Epidural during labor. For those who haven't heard about it, it is an injection given at the time of labor to alleviate pain. Per a study, 60% of US women who deliver naturally will go for Epidural (by the recommendation of the OBGYN). More of my US and Indian friends had chosen natural delivery with the help of Epidural.

Checkups went by. The happy day was nearing.

23rd Nov 2017 at my mom's place. Got the signal for the baby's day out ☺️ with lite strain and mild pain. We went to hospital at night around 10. We previously had discussed in detail with our gynecologist about the options for Epidural. The plan was to start without it and based on the situation, attending doctor will make the decision after our consultation. And it worked out the same way! The key is to apply epidural at the right time. If we apply early in the labor, we will not realize the contractions and it won't help the baby's movement down.

Nov 24 2017, our little princess born!

After a month or two, I slowly got back to normal. Still at my mom's place - continuing breast feed, eating a lot, pregnancy weight, missing sleeps. With help from my mom and dad I was managing my baby. Name selection was around the clock. My father in law was very much interested to see astrology/numerology. And we ended up in numerology.

Named our princess Adya (Being first, goddess durga).

It's entirely my hubby's and my sister's selection. After her 5th month myself and baby moved to my hubby's work place chennai. That made me even more challenging mommy and housewife. Managed my kid all alone. House chores, taking care of baby and daddy☺️. Hurry burry busy mommy life started. And I'm Enjoying it!

Sathya Kalaiselven ...I too had epidural anaesthesia delivery..... it's definitely one painless natural delivery option...n your baby is super cute 😍

Mahima Krishna A good to know dear. Epidural saved us from peak labor pain. And Every expecting parent must be aware of this.

Yes I agree...a lot of apprehension is still prevalent amongst couples and or wud be mother's regarding the after affects of an epidural episode....and there are certain areas of the country, where gynac are still not discussing epidural with their patients which is why I believe there is so much lag in understanding the concept Sathya Kalaiselven

Adya is so cute!
I've heard and read about epidurals. I'd a C section so no option
