Things to know about Cradle Cap

The oily or crusty patches on Baby's head is called cradle cap and this can be avoided if proper care is taken.

How to avoid?

Irrespective of the climate you live in or weather that time give head bath to the baby every day or every alternative days. Apply oil every day and use mild shampoo,; People will shy away from giving head bath thinking baby will catch cold. But that's not right. Washing their hair every day gives them good sleep, make sure to towel dry. Babies will never get cradle cap if this is done.

How to treat the cradle cap?

Incase if your baby has cradle cap already follow the below steps.

1. Start applying and giving head bath everyday

2. Mix 1/2 cup( savlon cap) of savlon in 1 mug of warm water, With cotton gently massage and clean the cradle cap by dipping it in savlon water. Do it gently and not more than 2 or 3 mins. It will leave slowly.;

3. If your baby is above 6 months and fontanels is already closed apply oil and comb with soft brush. The patch will come out.

4. Make sure to change and clean their pillow covers regularly.

Great info Rebecca Prakash ..1 doubt though, anti septic liquid is supposed to be harsh on their tender skin so is diluted savlon ok....
