13 weeks preg. Facing constipation problem. can I take isabgol or kayamchuran or any other remedies pls suggest.

You've got great advices from mommies alpa.I just want to stress upon increasing water intake and fibre rich foods.If doesn't get better,let ur doc know about it.They might prescribe you stools softening tablets.Don't give pressure while passing stools.It worsens the pain.Drink lots of water first thing in the morning in empty stomach<u>.</u>

Isabgol is a supplement, if u can manage well by eating more fibrous fruits n Vegetables then that route shud be taken. Start eating one bowl of pomegranate daily it will cure constipation much quicker than isabgol.

Isabgol is safe not sure about the other one. I too had constipation in the beginning but I took control over it naturally. Eat lot of fibre like fruits and vegetables; ( include yam, arbi often) instead of juices have whole fruits, drink plenty of water very important. Mix 1 teaspoon of Gulkand in warm milk and drink in the night it helps a lot, when are you having your iron supplement? Have iron in the morning and calcium in the night.. iron will slow down the digestion which is already slowed because of pregnancy harmones which will end up in constipation .
