15 Aug the day we became free from the clutches of British empire and finally became free. But no matter how an electric current passes through our veins whenever we talk about it, unfortunately for delhites this National holiday is just an holiday.

.

Earlier independence day for me also meant holiday. But unfortunately I realized that there is no concept of holiday after marriage and especially after having a baby.

.

So on a national holiday when everyone wakes up late, I have to get extra early to prepare some special breakfast. Then when everyone lazily walks around I cook something different for lunch and similarly my whole holiday is spent slaving away.

.

So like any other married woman I find freedom and celebrate my independence day whenever I go to my 'maayke'. Where I get to sleep in. My mum cooks delicious food for me and takes care of my daughter.

So independence day for me is when I go to my mothers house.
