5 ways to Teach Children about Feelings and Emotions
.
1. Use games and activities- Use flash cards @kalikaari_funeverday and ask them questions like how they felt when they met someone for the 1st time or how they felt when a child snatched his/her toy
Play facial expression games and give cues.

2. Sing songs - Singing songs like
When you are happy and you know it clap your hands

When you are sad and you know it speak it to mumma

When you are surprised and you know it say Waohhh

3. While reading a book discuss how is the character feeling - Give cues and ask your child what she/he thinks the character might be feeling.

4. Monkey see, Monkey do- Role model good and positive emotions. Kids are like a camera 24/7 all eyes on you. Use appropriate words and emotions.

5. Talk to them- Listen to them calmly and openly when your child shares her/his feeling.

Very important topic, Mridula. Thanks for writing about this. I have this book about how heart feels, I read that to my 16 month old with expressions, she enjoys reading it. Also, she can sense my feelings these days. So, yes, I hope I am int he right direction. Thanks for sharing, once again :)
