A few days ago I was worried about Govind's stranger anxiety. But he surprised me with his response to a very different environment that he has been raised untill now. This sunday we had taken Govind to his father's village for the first time after his birth, on the occasion of his annaprashan. It was a journey of 4 hours. He co-operated well during the travel. He was welcomed like the prince of the village over there. Initially he cried out of exhaustion and overcrowding. But 30 minutes later as soon as I gave him his toys; he was surprisingly at ease. He started greeting everybody with open arms, smile, laughter and excitment. He stole everybody's heart with his activity. It felt as if he had known them all since ages. I felt so relaxed and proud for him. Everybody appreciated my efforts of raising him so well and also acknowledged my difficulties of handling a preemie all alone. I almost felt like a warrior queen who had won a battle ferociously. In such a short stay also Govind became so immersed in his playful mood that he started giving me tough time while feeding. We returned on monday. Yet the mood continued untill today afternoon. He was refusing to swallow anything except water and milk. I thought may be he has got some pain in throat, as he was shouting at the top of his voice with excitement. So I started giving him lukewarm water. But nothing changed. Then gripe water, himalaya Bonnisan and doctor prescribed digestive enzyme drop neopeptine came to my rescue. I hope that the playful mood is over with him finally. What an experience of over-stimulated hyperactive baby management I got! My goodness. This is what makes mptherhood a roller coaster of happy moments, surprise, challenges and emotions; all flipping on to one another so instantly, time just flies away before we realise. And its gone before we can catch enough of it. Here is a pic of Govind with his cousin Nancy! The journey to and fro was also very memorable as we took a different unknown route. Both me and my husband love to tread on untaken roads and explore new routes. It was like a long drive over a hill. The whole road from dhenkanal to jajpur via kapilash road was covered with the canopy of tree branches which made ot cool on a hot summer day. It took us 1 hour more than the usual route. But we enjoyed a lot. Earlier the long drives were only 2 of us and now it is three of us. Nancy is Govind's bade papa's younger daughter. Having two babies together was such a happy occassion! #goodbyemay2019 #govindlovesbbc
