On 8th Jan, which happens to be my husband's birthday, mild labour pains started around 1 am in the morning. Initially I didn't realize these are labour pains so kept trying to sleep. After 2 hours of cramping around 3 am I felt something is going on so we rushed to the labour room. They took CTG and internal checkup and told me that labour pains have started so we will wait if pains didn't increase we will give you medicine to increase pains. Around 4:30 am they gave me enema and around 5:30 they gave me medicine to increase the pain.
Around 6 am pains started to increase gradually. After 3; rounds of medicine, 3 internal checkups and almost 16 hours of labour pain they told me that cervix is not dilated not even a centimetre. We all were shocked like hell. They took another CTG to see if they can wait but baby's heart rate was not doing good so doctors went for c section. I don't want to scare other preggers but c section is a nightmare. I was given an injection in my spine which made my lower body numb for 8 hours. Docs told me that I would only feel slight touching and pressing sensations but lord o lord those pulling sensations were out of this world. I was screaming and literally crying on the operation table.
Then after 2 hours, when anthesia starts to fade the pain that builds up even after several doses of painkillers that's nerve racking. Not even that, the pain you feel in your skull it feels all the nerves in your head are breaking down. I was literally begging for more painkillers throughout the night. Fortunately, my nurse was good she gave me a dose that made me sleep and took care of my baby throughout the night with the help of mother. I experienced both labour pains and c section pain all in one day.
But, like they always say ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL, those struggles were awarded with the most beautiful girl I know in this planet, my lovely daughter.
