A step towards making your house germ-free
Parents become extra careful in keeping their homes clean after the arrival of a baby. New mothers, especially become very worried regarding the health of their newborn. The places, which we have often overlooked in our house are the dirtiest. Who knew that your sofa can hoard germs with visitors arriving your house every day? Even the flooring, which despite cleaning every day isn’t so clean. The switch boards, which are touched many times a day carry germs too! Shocked? You better be, because despite taking careful measures, many mothers complain of their babies falling ill frequently. If you guess harder, you will come to know that the most dirtiest place in the house is your kitchen counter and the toys and electronics.
What? Did you just think that the toilet and bathroom was the only dirtiest place in your house? Well, they sure are, but beyond them, it is your kitchen, which tops the list. You will be shocked to know that your kitchen accounts for the maximum number of germs being collected on a daily basis. And that is the place where you cook your meals for the entire family. So, just cleaning the kitchen counter with some soap won’t do the justice. With so much work to be done with a baby in your life, using any disinfectant makes your job easier. Your kitchen counter has just topped the list of the dirtiest places, but do you want to know which other places are following?
1. Dish sponges: The dish sponges have the E.coli bacteria growing in them. With these sponges we wash the utensils, making them even more prone to the bacteria. 86% of sponges had mold and yeast, 77% contained coliform bacteria and 18% were filled with staph bacteria. It is best to microwave the sponges after using them, which will reduce the bacteria count.
2. Toothbrush holder: You didn’t think of this one, did you? A toilet seat has far less number of germs as compared to the toothbrush holder. If your toothbrush holder is near your toilet, it may be subject to particles that are sprayed through the air when you flush. Close the toilet when you flush and also keep your toothbrush holder away from the toilet.
3. Toys: Your kid’s toys are the most dirtiest. Children often have the habit of putting the toys in their mouth, which are lying on the floor. The best way to clean them thoroughly is by spraying them with the Dettol disinfectant.
4. Bathroom faucet handles: Turning on the faucet is the step between using the bathroom and washing your hands. Reportedly, 27% of faucet handles contained staph and 9% contained coliform bacteria. You can install touch-free faucets for more protection. If not, clean your faucets regularly with disinfectant sprays and wipes.
5. Remote control: Your TV remote is also the most dirties thing in the house. Your child can frequently put the remote in his/her mouth, causing the transfer of bacteria. It is best to cover the remote in a plastic cover, which will make it easier to clean it everyday.
These everyday things in your house are prone to an alarming rate of bacteria. So think smart and use the Dettol disinfectant spray regularly to clean them thoroughly.
