After becoming a mother I understood the need to take good care of myself. Postpartum phase is overwhelming and exhausting as our bodies have undergone so many changes and it needs time to recover. I focused on healthy diet to help me be active and take care of my body and little ones need to breastfeed.
As mothers we are anxious to loose our pregnancy weight but extreme dieting or starving our body of basic food groups is not going to help.instead focusing on having a healthy and balanced meal throughout our day is more important.
Few things that i followed are:- ** include lots of fruits, vegetables, dairy and protein in my diet. I ate in small amounts throughout my day. Ate my vegetables before so most of my appetite was filled with that. ** make healthy eating choices. Instead of eating that packed and processed food go for cut fruits, dry fruits, paneer sticks, veggie sticks.they make good as snacks. ** have plenty of fluid throughout your day. As a breastfeeding moms we tend to get thirsty a lot. I made sure to drink a glass of water before every feed. Include juices, milk coconut water, through your day. ** avoid eating out, this is the biggest change I made in my life. Have stopped eating out or even ordering. That way I can make sure and control what I put in my mouth. ** take enough protein ( eggs, cheese, tofu, yogurt, nuts, sprouts etc)
Also never forget about your mental health, that’s also important as we often get busy with our new bundle of joy and forget about our needs and time to connect with someone.
Things i practiced after my baby:- ** meditate (practice deep breathing it will reduce your stress level and give you a chance to connect with yourself) ** go out for a walk ( that fresh air and morning sun will do wonders to enhance your mood, get you day started, and have plenty of vitamin D for you and your little one.) ** get enough rest ( rest when your baby rests that’s really very true) ** have some time for yourself ( let someone look after your baby while you can have a nice bath or listen to some music or whatever you like, you will be energetic and happy to be with your baby.)
Take care of yourselves as that’s the most important thing we can do for ourselves and our babies. Remember that being healthy is more important than being skinny. Take care of your health and let’s teach our kids to take care of themselves. #crazymumma#peacefulparenting#bbcreatorsclub#healthychange
