Age appropriate toys help..like initially light and sound ones..then blocks, rings arrangements etc which help develop motor skills..then small puzzles and gradually one can introduce new ones..my idea is to include both outdoor and indoor games...old school games like ludo, chess etc...also I try the keep it simple, minimal and don't invest in costly once..also once baby grows up an age group I make her donate her toys to younger needy kids..

We have never bought toys for Atarah but my father in law buys every month. We tried intervening but he is not ready to listen. But I give only few toys to her, others are safe with me. I already gave off few to our maid who in turn gave it to her neighbour's kids.
