I have a super supportive brother in law, If I say he is more like a brother I'm not overeating. We are friends but lot of respect for each other. He calls me " Anni" sister in law in our language though he calls his brother by name 😉. And I always address him with " Aap".
Me and Athu are at our in law's house as I can't manage her alone, She is missing her dad so much but Brother in law rescues. As soon as he comes from office she expects him to carry her (She does that with her dad), She thinks it's her dad and behaves exactly the way she behaves with her dad.
We should try our best to keep the family united, as a parents we must inherit that virtue in our kids, Whatever issues we have with our brothers, sisters and extended family we must not discuss in front of the kids. My husband loves his brother and from the time I got married I have been supportive in concern to my Brother in law. I firmly believe woman of the house should try her best to keep the family bounded.
My questions to you all : 1. How do you call your Brother in law? 2. Is your brother in law supportive? 3. Have you done anything anything for your hubby's sibling bonding?

I have a real BIL and we had started bonding well much before my marriage..even when I was in college.. respect and care for each other were main things..he considered me very lucky for himself so always involved me in his things..also after my marriage he was not getting anywhere with his studies so I asked my MIL to send him to me and I will teach him...so he stayed with me for a year and I taught him after coming from office everyday... unforgettable time as he is a great cook... I learned a lot from him about my in laws family and cooking too...he is a mummas boy but very good natured..he passed well and later I kept mannnants for his job.. I made his engineering final year project even when I am not an engineer and then MBA project too...even his whole marriage arrangements we're done by me..am happy that he is happy in life..we live far from each other but if need be we will help each other..and I agree with @63713f982338f60015eaa17b one should always keep kids away from family issues but our in laws treatment changes relationship's
