Almond Halwa

Ingredients:
1 cup Badam/Almond
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Milk
1/4 cup Ghee
1 pinch Saffron (Optional)
1/2 tsp Cardamom powder

Instructions:
Heat 2 cups water in a bowl, add badams and turn off the flame. After 10 minutes drain water and peel off the skin and keep it aside.
Soak saffron strings in 4 tsp. of water/milk.
In a mixer jar, add badam and milk and grind it as a smooth paste.
In a non-stick pan, heat 3 tsp of ghee and add ground badam paste.
Mix well and bring it to boil.
Add 1 tsp. of ghee and cook for 10 minutes.
When badam cooked, the nice aroma will come out. Then add sugar and mix well.
Now add saffron water.
When it started bubbling add 2 more tsp. of ghee.
Now add the cardamom powder.
Add little ghee and cook for 10 minutes or cook till the halwa separates from pan.
