Are you unsure about breastfeeding? Please read...
I had a baby via C-Section at 37 weeks because he was too small and doctor did not want to take a risk. He was 2200gms.
Breastfeeding turned out to be a challenge as my son was unable to latch on properly as he was not strong enough. Once we got the hang of it, the next challenge was the long hours of sitting and feeding, as to lay down and feed is said to be risky and can cause SIDS(Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Feeding was almost half an hour apart. Baby refused to sleep much in the day or night. Even when he was not hungry, he wouldn't sleep. I was exhausted to the core that sometimes I felt I was losing my senses. But then, I wanted my baby to have the best. Everything turned out well as by 3 months, baby reached normal length, though he remains lean even now.
In spite of the doctor warning that the baby would be late in reaching milestones, my baby has been spot on till now. Doctor had also warned that his immunity would be low, but he did not even get a cold or an upset tummy till he was 6 months, during which he was exclusively breastfed. And the best part is that when solids were introduced, he was ready to try every food and was also able to digest them without any issues.
I believe breastfeeding gave him more immunity, all the right nutrition, and also introduced him to the various flavours which I ate. In the end, those endless hours of sitting which gave me horrid backaches and sleepless nights of sheer fatigue are long forgotten. I hope he reaps the benefits of being EBF for life... #breastfeeding#breastfeedinghurdles

Yup! Exclusive breastfeeding is very important for a healthy baby because it contains prebiotics, probiotics and other nutritional components.

Thank you all for your kind words. My intention was to encourage new moms to exclusively breastfeed their baby and not give in to doubts regarding their ability to satisfy baby's hunger. If anyone, by reading this post, is inspired to take their own decisions, then my intention has been fulfilled.
