#Asha'sStoneSoup
There is an old hardcover book called We are Neighbours, in my house, which belonged to my sister before me; and was a family friend's book before that. His name was Ralph, I am told, and his name (Ralphy) is still pencilled inside. I'm guessing this book is at least 50 years old (yeah, yeah, I'm ancient) and there are nearly 50 short stories inside!
Long story short, it's one of my cherished childhood possessions and #thenineyearold still reads it when she comes to nani's place every summer.
We both love one story in it called STONE SOUP. This story is happens to be a separate book as well - do google! So my childoo happens to be down with a cold; and last night at 11:45pm she announces that she is hungry! Since I needed to pump her with warm fluids, I asked her if she would like soup and toast. And then we both said the magic words together, "Stone Soup!"
We laughed and went into the kitchen. I made a cuppa soup since at that hour I was falling dead and she was super hungry. While dipping her toast in soup, she asked me the most interesting q: "Mom, if you were to make stone soup, what 5 ingredients would you add?
I smiled. That was super easy :)
I said, "Asha's Stone Soup would have
i) a Chicken leg
ii) one medium onion (slice it long)
iii) 3 pods of garlic (leave them uncrushed)
iv) pasta (a handful)
v) oregano
"Hmm... that sounds super delicious Mom. And of course the two main ingredients, water and a stone!"
We giggled when I told her I'm gonna post this on BabyChakra and ask all Moms, what their Stone Soup would be like! She thinks it's an awesome idea - we can build a recipe book of Moms' Stone Soups for all the BabyChakra childoos to enjoy!
So pls tell me, what 5 ingredients would you add to make your stone soup? You can comment here or make a fresh post. Don't forget to use the special hashtag #YourNameStoneSoup. No fancy prizes. Just some free hugs from my childoo and me when we meet. And #Asha'sStoneSoup if you come home :)
