Once I delivered our journey wasn't smooth. Baby had latching issue. Luckily my neonatologist and lactation nurse was extremely supportive. They helped me learn about various positions. I never knew breastfeeding was so complex. All I thought was it's natural, just you bring the baby and she will latch and feed. Later I joined FB group breastfeeding support for Indian mothers, also read various articles regarding breastfeeding. It opened my eyes, how it is important to breastfeed baby. I had to join back work once she was 6 months old. Now I had converted to pro breastfeeding person. So I decided to pump and store milk. I built decent stash before joining work. Once I joined work, whenever I am around her I used to direct feed. And when I am away bottle feed. I used to pump once in 3 hours when I was away from her. So my supply wouldn't get affected. Now she is 13 months. I pump once a day afternoon so that my supply shouldn't dip. She is already on solids. And I feed her on demand. Planning to continue further Breastfeeding really helped us to bond better. My advice to everyone is avoid people who create negativity. People will say many things when you feed. Ignore them . Do not panic when is there is no milk day one. It will take time to establish. Do skin to skin contact. Keep yourself well hydrated. Eat nutritious food.
