First let me know how old is the baby? If baby is small the best way is to get a play gym with bright colour of hanging toys mostly red colour. You can also use a torch with mild light to move it right and left. I got some toys from Amazon with lights and sounds and baby enjoys them.

Anon...To make your baby focus on any object you need hanging bright colours toys...Just take some light balls and move it right left and let the baby observe... It doesn't take few days...It may take months to make the baby focus. Also be close to baby and talk to her. Trust me my son was unable to see anything when he was born. He went through surgeries.. And now through constant efforts he is able to see everything and focus.
Also take the baby for walks...Let her see surroundings.
Is your baby premie?

@61321b91c71eba0013440537 The baby seems to follow light inconsistently. he does not focus constantly on objects. my therapist says the baby just needs visual simulation to help him focus on objects more regular. so i am looking for ways ,apart from using colored balls and light, to do this visual therapy at home itself.

For my baby we have colourful toys...Toys with lights are a great help. You can show it in different directions and let the baby follow the light. Also fix a toy at a place and then take it back and see how much baby is able to see...
We also do alternate day patching for eye...But I can't suggest you this unless I know baby has certain problem.
