I use unsalted butter. Good fats are must for bBy brain development so add butter, ghee, coconut oil in their food.

Yes you can offer. I usually pressure cook for 3 whistles saute in butter and grind it in mixie but now I offer well cooked peas just by pressing it with my fingers. I never gave dal water or rice water. Offered purees and handsmashed.
