I made my daughter sit and eat by verbally telling her stories.. sometimes had to tell even 3 but she started sitting..I made many weird sounds of animals.. etc actions to keep her enticed

Since ur baby is onlyb6 months . Right now a high chair is apt . Also check online u get a booster cum high chair.
