CAN WE REALLY LOSE OUR WEIGHT IN LONG-TERM BY EATING LESS CALORIES DIET? It is very common problem in our mind to think that we can lose weight by cutting down the calories. So, the question is can we really lose weight? Yes, we can lose weight but not for long-term but for temporarily. Why?
Because after eating so many calories without even realizing our body has adapted that diet and have a set point now. To maintain that set point our body works really hard. So when we lose weight our body fight backs and take the responsibility in it's own hands to maintain that weight. Our metabolism slows down to burn less calories then before. Somehow after some time we get our old weight back but with extra kgs. Also, now our metabolism is too slow to burn these extra calories. Because of this these extra calories are now stored as fat in our body. It is our body's survival instinct. Because of eating less calories the appetite hormone Leptin that signals our brain of being full decrease in amount. Infact our body increase the releases of appetite hormone Ghrelin that signals hunger to our brain. These can be called hormonal imbalance. It can happen because our body is being deprived of it's original calories it was getting.
