Summer holidays means out comes the never ending shopping list and since the munchkins are at home, they constantly remind you, "Mom we need to buy my walking shoes, mom I really need some new rubber bands, mom......" And with smaller kids, they constantly outgrow everything, so instead of engaging in retail therapy it's more like retail tasks!
Anyway, so since we were already out I drove down to the Bata store and got #thenineyearold to try out some cool walking shoes. She loved these North Star shoes (and so did I!) and thankfully her size was there :)
She obviously wanted to wear them immediately from the shop :) As soon as we got home I took a pair of shoes she is outgrowing and gave them to our maid. I'm trying to teach her that the moment we buy something new, we must give away something from our cupboard (something we don't need or doesn't fit) so we don't keep hoarding stuff. "Less is more" is what I keep telling her and she also reminds me very often :)
