Coffee is love for a lot of people. But when you are pregnant you need to keep away coffee to a certain extent in order to prevent the negative effect of caffeine on the growing fetus.
The reason why doctors and experts advise you to avoid or limit your coffee intake during pregnancy is that caffeine is known to cause constriction of the blood vessels which leads to reduced blood and oxygen supply to the growing fetus. This reduced oxygen and blood supply to the fetus, in turn, leads to growth inhibition or restriction.
Additionally, you should keep in mind that besides coffee; chocolate, tea, energy drinks, etc also contain caffeine in them. It’s advised that the caffeine intake during pregnancy should not exceed 150-200 milligrams per day. #Caffeine #Complications #SeemaSays
