Colic is nothing but prolonged episodes of intense crying in babies. Colic is found in babies around 6 weeks of age and in most cases, this condition declines or stops at the age of 3-4 months. A baby that’s suffering from colic pain tends to have a high-pitched cry (involving screaming) for about 3 hours/day. since the exact reason behind colic is known, there’s no specific precaution of remedy to it. The only way to manage colic is by soothing the colic cry in babies.
A few ways to do so include:
- Hold your baby close and cuddle him/her.
- Take your baby for a walk.
- Try to make your baby burp.
- Sing or talk to your baby.
- Play some soft soothing sound or music.
- Gently massage or rub your baby’s back.
- Gently massage your baby’s belly.
- Cover your baby with a soft blanket and swaddle him/her.
- Make your baby sit up.
- Try to rock your baby or use a swing.
- Change the position in which your baby is sitting or lying
- Use a pacifier.
- Take your baby for a ride.
- Take your baby for a warm soothing bath.
Calming your baby during colic could be hard but these tips would try to make your life easier and calm your baby down, faster than expected.
