Come December and we start shopping fof all those cute Christmas themed clothes for our lil munchkins. Red sweater with a reindeer, or a Santa Claus...furry jackets, adorable white onesies with cute prints...the list is endless!!!

With an experience of 3.5 years now i have realised how to be a smart kids clothing shopper! Here is my mental checklist i refer to before buying any outfit for my son.
1. Comfort: It could be a really smart dungaree but will he be comfortable getting in and out of ut for multiple washroom breaks. He prefers stretchable clothes so I have stopped buying cotton shirts and non stretch denims no matter how dapper they look. If he is not comfortable in the clothes meant for him, he will be cranky and restless all the time
2. Quality : Sometimes fancy clothes in regular malls and online stores may not use the best quality fabrics. I stay away from polyester and fabrics which feel too thick or rough on the skin.
3. Design : I always look for different prints or designs and colours. Pastels and bright lively colours look great on smaller kids, girls as well as boys.
4. Price : Honestly I dont buy exorbitantly priced products for my son as they wil get tight in a few months and he may barely wear it in that time. I also look out for sales at malls and good brands and stock up on a size bigger if needed so that i get the best deals.
5. Utility : Does your kid really need the same sweater in all 5 colours. Or do u really need to buy that cute Panda costume which you may never make them wear except for a photoshoot. I buy cute and smart clothes for my son but it has to be more wearable rather than just for a couple of hours on a single day.
Of course I have been there and done that before learning thess lessons myself. But keeping these pointers in mind makes it easy to to stop ourselves from going crazy while shopping. These clothes are anyways soon going to grow small for your kid.

In my next post I will share few simple things I follow with the tiny clothes.
