There is a slight pain in the breasts now and then mostly followed by leaking of few drops of milk. Does this mean that the breast is full? I sometimes feel the breasts very soft and get confused if there is no milk. Since when it full, it gets hardened.

Baby will latch to the breast only the moment he/she is hungry hence dont worry on that account n if the breast is leaking it is the obvious sign that the breast is overflowing so in this u can use the manual/electric breast pump to express the milk. And this milk can be fed to the baby later n u will feel light even

Shruti if the breast is paining with drops of milk it means that breast is full, squeeze and take off little milk and feed the baby. Coming to your 20 mins of feeding, as the baby grows their sucking power will be more so by 5 or 6 minutes they will feed to their hunger. So do not stick to this 20 mins thing strictly..

Feed from both the breasts for twenty minutes ten minutes each side of the breast, if your baby's pee count is six to seven times a day, then it's a sign of well fed baby

And also Revauthi, I heard that feeding from one side for 20 mins ensures baby gets both foremilk and the hindmilk. And that is why one session one breast for 20 minutes. Any idea?
