Doctors - Boon and Bane I had PCOS and I was unable to conceive for long time after marriage. I consulted very experienced and very famous gynecologist in the city. She thoroughly examined me and started medicines. She didn't give any unnecessary medicine or treatment..she always asked me to wait and have patience even if I suggested anything by googling:p. So after two years of treatment I was able to conceive thorough IUI..I was on cloud nine. I had difficult pregnancy, I had typhoid at my sixth week followed by spotting at 14 week and diagnosed with gestational diabetes. My doctor was an angel and she didn't let me get scared in any of situations..she always spoke with smile and instill confidence in me.
In my third trimester we decided to switch doctor! I know bad decision but previous gynecologist had her clinic very far from home and she was single doctor in clinic. So we decided we will have delivery in multi speciality hospital. I did lot of research consulting my friends and reading online reviews.we finalised on one doctor and went to see her. Me and hubby were the last patients to see her( she was already packing her bag.. understandable she must had busy day) she flips through my report for two minutes ( I had one big file since I had taken treatment for long time)..she isn't too happy with my report..she tells me that my WBC count is higher than normal so baby might have thalassemia!!( It's a genertic disorder which happens very rarely and happens only if me and hubby are carriers). Unfortunately I knew what this disease is since one of my far relative is affected by it. It requires constant blood transfusion though out the life. So I was very scared and tried getting more information from doctor as to why she thinks I have this!! But she isn't ready to talk since her time is up and off she goes! Even though I am shocked and still inside her cabin. We decided not to consult her again and one of my relative who is gynecologist helped me rule out all possibilities by performing various test for next one week.. I was in my ninth month and stress affected me badly! However I again consulted good doctor who helped me deliver my baby girl in June.. Please be careful in picking ur gynecologist because they play major role in keeping us stress free throughout pregnancy 😇
