he is not underweight. his weight growth is good as per my pediatrician. he scolded me for asking him to suggest formula for my baby

My daughter was and is under weight! never has her pead recommended !

It will depend on how much less the weight is. If it is just a small difference then the doctor will ask you to work on your breast feeding and try and feed for longer duration each feed. If it is very different yes the suggestion for formula will be made.

No
