Even after belonging to millennial generation the concept of "Equal Parenting" comes as a myth. More than half of the parenting role in some families even now has to be taken care by the mother. And gender divide begins from the the first day of parenting.
.
But I definitely thank my stars for having Mr. Husband Kartik Kujur as Shaarav's dad because he has been there for us right from the time we conceived. He tried to be with us at doctor's every appointment. He has equally shared with we the perks and perils of parenting be it waking at odd hours, changing the diapers, tending a sick child, the first smile, the first throw up, everything. Many of you would also know him since he joined Babychakra long before I did. He would avidly read parenting articles for every minute thing Shaarav did or gave to find answers.
.
And though I feel jealous that Shaarav looks like his father but I'm happy that the first words he spoke were Papa and not Maa. And I'm extremely proud that he has got the best genes from his Dad, no wonder he's obsessed with his Daddy. We can choose our Husbands but the children can't choose their fathers and we are definitely lucky to have Mr. Husband as Shaarav's father not just for the DNA that he shares but also to have such a doting Daddy to raise SShaarav to become just like him.
.
And for the #equalparent that he is we made this beautiful "I love you" card for Daddy Dearest on Father's Day to appreciate all the efforts that he put to keep us well fed, happy and healthy!
