Every pregnancy story is unique and special. I'm previleged to have the job of bringing new life into this beautiful world. My wish for all pregnant women is the gift of Mindful pregnancy and childbirth.
From today onwards, I'm going to share you my experiences and some tips which actually worked on me for smooth childbirth. I had normal delivery with less labor pain.
I will give this credit to Meditation.
Meditation helps everything. The benefits of meditation are long established. I started my meditation by listening Ram Raksha. The Sanskrit shlok makes me feel calm, confident and protected. I also used to listen some of Indian Classical songs.
Meditation creates deep level of mental rest for you and your baby. Also teaches to avoid reacting negatively to stressful situations.
Meditation is the most safest and effective way to reduce anxiety, stress. It decreases the production of stress hormones like Cortisol and Adrenaline and give signal to fetus that it is safe and protected. At 32 weeks, placenta transports hormones from mother's blood into the fetel environment. The fetus relies on the mother for reassurance about safety.
It also produces Endorphins (Pleasure hormone) which assists with preparation of childbirth due to its pain relieving effect. This actually improves with time. So the earlier you start practicing mediation during pregnancy, the effective results will get to see you.
Meditation lower the blood pressure and heart rate which reduces the risk of preeclampsia, placental abruption, miscarriage, preterm labor. Also increases breast milk production, helping your baby sleep well, be less colicky and irritable, have fewer allergies and infections, have a higher tolerance for discomfort and develop skills for self soothing..
