Finally i have my “Mommy take Over Day”

Today i will be sharing my Ganpati utsav memories that i have since my childhood days.

The Glory of Mumbai is at its peak during 10 days of Ganpati Festival. Ganeshji gets in lots of divine aura , happiness, celebrations, meet n greet around this time.

GaneshUtsav is my most loved festival. Getting Ganpati idol home has been a family tradition for generations.We have grown up seeing this ritual over many years. This festival has played a very important role in shaping up the divine aspect of my personality.
During childhood days all preparations where done by family members from pandal & home decorations,Puja preparations, festive food items, functions etc.That personal involvement of everyone was the key factor of happiness for us. The enthusiam in getting in lord Ganesha home was unmatchable.
As a kid i used to inform all my friends about gannuji ‘s homecoming during our evening playtime.My house was the only place wherein Ganesh idol was welcomed in my friends group so it was a matter of pride for me. Our Housing Society also got a huge Ganpati idol and lots of celebrations used to take place all ten days.
On the day of Vinayak chaturti, we used to go early morning to get ganpati home.Chanting “Ganpati Bappa Morya” used to get in a lot of positivity n happiness.Every time my brother got a chance to hold Ganesh Murti and i being youngest was given mushak to hold(that sibling thing).
If mushak was not there i used to pick small stones from garden n paint it as mushak.
By the age of 6 i was well versed with all ganesh aarti n rituals as we did morning n evening aarti at home and in society ganesh pandal.
Various fun Activities/ Competitions where held up by elders all ten days in society for all age groups.
I participated in mostly all my age related competitions n acts which has been a good learning experience . It gave me immense confidence to face stage and perform. Winning in competitions would be a cherry on cake.
Visiting various ganesh pandals in mumbai with friends/family was exciting too.Every pandal had a theme and number of vists to various places used to be talk of the town for us.
I feel truly blessed to be part of this festival. As their are so many learnings involved.
