Guys I'm getting nervous by thinking that my baby is going to be 6 months on 20 Dec and I've to start weaning. I've gone through all articles here but still it's bothering me a lot. What should I serve her on her 1st day of weaning? I'm excited too to introduce her food besides bm but dont know what, how nd how much nd what not...how to start? Please help me in this.

Dear Pooja, u have reached mist exciting stage of motherhood..There is no need to worry.. the more you worry the more you will pass on the same energies to child..
To start with you can give carrots and apple purees (runny) give one veggie or fruit at a time. Rice and daal soups, ragi, slowly move more textured food with combos of veggies and fruits.. u can add next stage then barley and millets, brown rice, black chana soup ..move on then bite size steamed chunks ..
small portions will be enough to make your child happy ...bm is always the priority till at least one yr ...do introduce every seasonal veggie and fruit in your child' s weaning journey...
Hey Pooja. Congratulations on your baby’s half birthday.
Dont be nervous and just keep the excitement on as kids really like the new tastes.
1. Start slowly And dont push .Sometimes kids reject the food initially as if takes time develop the taste.
2. Start with a spoon or 2 for everything as kids have small tummy.
3. Follow the 3 day rule for any food you introduce to check allergic reactions.
4. I would recommend not to introduce cow/buffalo milk till one year and continue with breast milk and formula milk even for making semi solid food
5. To start with , begin with light items like suji kheer, fruit purees like apple puree, mashed banana ( mixed with milk as well) , carrot/beetroot soup etc . Slowly by 7 -8 months introduce semi solids like daliya, home made cerelac, oats etc.
6. I recommend no salt n sugar till 1 year though to add taste you may add jaggery powder and pinch of rock salt at times
Thx
