# Hand holding the first baby when the second is on the way....
DONT BE AFRAID, ITS ONLY ON THE MIND. Are you currently pregnant with your second baby, or are thinking about having another one? Here are some mummy hacks to make sure your first born doesn’t feel neglected. Before the baby arrives 🤰 Don't blame your belly. While you're pregnant, your growing belly may be the reason you can't get down on the floor to play with their Lego . But don't tell her that. She may think it's the baby's fault, and resentment may build before your little one is even born.
🤰 Encourage friendships. Studies show that children who have at least one close friend before their sibling is born have better relationships with their new brother or sister.
🤰 While you're pregnant, let your older child choose a few things for the baby (such as books or toys). When he is born, let her help you feed, bathe, and dress him When the baby arrives 👶Boost his ego. Make your child feel proud and connected to the new baby by saying things like, "She only smiles like that when you're around" or "She likes when you hold her bottle."
👶 Ask his advice. Ask your toddler: "Do you think the baby would like to wear the blue shirt or the yellow shirt?" or "Do you want to help me tell a story?"
👶Spend a little time alone with him. Spend some time each day with just your toddler, even if it's only a few minutes of drawing or building with blocks. This time makes him feel special and reminds him that you're his mummy as well as the baby's.
