Happy Morning guys! 😃 I get to see mommies asking, I'm sick can I breastfeed, I'm suffering from typhoid or cold or cough etc, can I breastfeed? The answer is YES. There are few conditions under which a mother cannot breastfeed are 1)Mother who has been infected with HIV, can pass this virus to babies so they are suppose to refrain from feeding. 2)Mothers who take radiation or chemotherapy treatment for cancer and taking medication to get cancer treated cannot breastfeed as the effects of radiation and medication will pass through breast milk. 3)Moms, rare case scenario... Under drug addiction cannot breast feed. 4) Mothers infected with human T-cell lymphotropic virus type I or type II should not breast feed their babies. 5)Mothers with untreated and active tuberculosis infections are not advised to breastfeed. In another case a baby who suffers galactocemia a special condition cannot be given breast milk. They need a special diet chart from a lactation specialist. Hope this post will be of some help to those who are confused and this will be an eye opener for those who would like to know some more information about breastfeeding. Open for suggestions.... Thank you
