Cooking a food a different way, serving it cold, or altering the texture can make it more appealing to your baby. And when you're introducing new foods, don't shy away from adding flavor. Above all, be patient and keep trying.
Tips for introducing new foods
🍚Keep portions small. When you offer a new food, make the first few servings just a teaspoon or two of a single ingredient .If your baby is just getting used to a food, she may eat only a small amount. If she takes a quick liking to it, feel free to offer more.
🍛Follow your baby's cues. If your baby grimaces when he tries a new food, give him a moment to adjust to the new flavor and swallow before offering more. However, if he firmly closes his mouth or turns his head, try again another day.
🍚Be patient and persistent. Your baby may snub a food a dozen times before deciding it's her favorite thing on the menu, especially if you switch up how you serve it
🍛Introduce one food at a time. Wait three to five days before offering another new food. This approach may make it easier to see if your baby has a food allergy.
Make meals a positive experience
🥗Pick a good time. Your baby is likely to be more receptive to tasting new things when she's well rested, in a good mood, not sick, and hungry but not overly hungry.
🥗Let your baby make a mess. Babies learn through their senses. When your baby plays with his food, he's exploring how it feels and smells, in addition to how it tastes in his mouth. Wait to clean up until he's done.
🥗Model eating a variety of healthy foods. Your baby loves to mimic what you do, which makes it more likely that she'll want to sample whatever you're eating. Include your baby in the family mealtime. Even if you feed your child separately (which makes it easier to carefully monitor him as he eats), have him join you at the table when you can. In addition to seeing what you're eating, he'll also experience family meals as a fun time when you get to enjoy each other's company. #bbcreatorsclub#parentinghelp#weaning
